Safety Discussion

The committee reviewed the most recent fire drill, discussing the adjustments made to the drill procedure, what worked well, and what did not, and agreed to continue monitoring drill execution and revisit procedures as needed to ensure staff and student safety in future drills. The committee also discussed where the Multi-Hazard Emergency Operations Plan (MEOP) will be housed on each campus so that it remains readily accessible to staff in the event of an emergency, with all staff to be informed of its location and expected to familiarize themselves with it prior to the start of the school year or upcoming drills. Finally, the committee was informed that the District Vulnerability Assessment (DVA), conducted by the Texas Education Agency's Office of School Safety and Security, is scheduled for September 22nd, and discussed preparation steps to ensure the campus is ready, including reviewing access control points, confirming emergency procedures are current and accessible, and ensuring staff readiness.
