How will we effectively plan for 2020-2021:
Based on participant feedback, the Chair would like to propose an alternating schedule for addressing Planning Actions each week. The proposal is for Operations actions to be addressed bi-weekly and for Instructional actions to be addressed on the alternating weeks.
Quote- So often you find that the students you're trying to inspire are the ones that end up inspiring you.
*Dr. Weems-Allen explained EOY iReady data analysis- In comparison to FCS our scholars are passing tasks at a higher rate which is an indication of closing achievement gaps at a faster rate and a higher number of students almost on grade level.
*Mr. Muhammad indicated that scholars will have access to iReady during the Summer
*Mr. Polk brought up a critical concern regarding student performance. It is important for scholars to do their own work within i-Ready. The virtual program is designed for individual student use.
*The AEC chair will schedule a video-conference with Mr. Polk to gather his thoughts and collaborate to propose solutions.
*Dr. Weems-Allen reviewed teacher feedback regarding curricular materials purchased in the Fall of 2019. Analysis from survey data indicates a need for Professional Development (PD) to ensure effective implementation and alignment to our TRi-Focus.
*Mr. M. and the Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) will develop a plan for PD including potential cost for Summer workshops.
*Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) members are sending out a survey to consider parent concerns regarding on-campus, virtual, and blended instruction. In conjunction with Fulton County Schools, CHCS is developing written guidance for operations and instruction for all instructional scenarios.
*The ILT caravan visited each 8th graders home! It was uplifting and encouraging for each team member
